Good News for Jehovah’s Witnesses is a non-profit 501(c)3 and is also registered as a private foundation. Being registered as a private foundation means no one on staff can get paid, so everyone involved is a volunteer. That said, below is the information on what we mainly do with the donations.
Operations: In order to operate, there are expenses for the software that's needed for the website and podcast. There are also annual expenses in California to maintain a 501(c)3 status. We also hire help to make additional updates for the website. Our plans for the website go as far to getting the website translated into different languages and also getting the podcast episodes transcribed.
Marketing: Marketing is the key to reach more people and the opportunities for this are endless. Marketing can be costly and will likely always be the number one expense.
Letters to Jehovah’s Witnesses: One way we reach out to Jehovah’s Witnesses is by sending letters by mail. We do this for free when someone gives us a friend or family members information that is still a Jehovah’s Witness. We do this by mail rather that email because emails would most likely get deleted before they got read. A letter, on the other hand, has a better chance of being read and planting a seed.
